Does Panoramic Wifi work?

Better wifi,  better internet,  internet that doesn’t have to be reset all the time, internet that just works.

Is that too much to ask?

Panoramic wifi from Cox,  Does it actually work?

Our field tests don’t look good.  We didn’t notice any difference in coverage, especially in a large house.   Here are the promises:

NO MORE DEAD ZONES

Panoramic WiFi Modems and Extenders put high speed Internet coverage even in hard-to-reach spots.

WALL-TO-WALL FAST

The Panoramic WiFi Modem is designed to bring the full power of your Cox Internet service to every inch of your home.

Unfortunately, it sounds like a good deal of marketing.

First, let’s talk about the router itself. There aren’t a ton of details available on Cox’s website, but it’s some kind of combo modem/router that combines the DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem with a 3×3 MIMO, 802.11ac Wi-Fi access point.

Our in field tests show pretty limited coverage, and inadequate for most houses over 2500 square feet.   So before you sign up for the 10.00 a month for  a panoramic wifi consider  getting your own router or mesh network.  There’s quite a bit better options available.
